What is your dream?
Is it to leave a legacy of words by writing and publishing children books, your memoir, or a novel? To bring music and beauty to others as a full time artist ? To start a non-profit and solve a local or global problem? To travel to remote parts of the world and bring hope to others as a missionary?
Maybe it’s to start your own business and provide jobs and a great product for many… to volunteer your time and talents for a great cause… to be an exemplary parent, teacher, friend…
Or maybe it’s to model a life of faith and courage as you navigate scary and stormy waters in this season of your life.
Lately, the concept of building dreams has been at the forefront of my mind, partly because my husband and I are new empty-nesters; dreams that have lived on the backburner can now have our full attention.
So as the dream building journey begins again, I’m reminded of four dream principles I’ve learned along the “dream-building” way:
- Dreams are oxygen that fuels faith, hope, and courage for the future
- They are God’s clue about our special contribution to this world
- They take root and grow when we share them with others
- Without courage, discipline, and integrity to act upon them, dreams will turn into regrets.
“It’s never too late to be who you might have been.” –George Elliot
How about you? Do you have a dream that needs building? I’d love to hear about it and share the journey with you.
